The NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island Department of Neurology is seeking an enthusiastic applicant for an exciting opportunity in our Movement Disorders Division.

The Marlene and Paolo Fresco Institute for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders at NYU Langone Department of Neurology/Long Island seeks faculty members for appointment to the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The Fresco Institute is proud to be a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence since 2009 and to be a leader in Parkinson’s disease care. 

 

The full-time faculty positions are based at NYU Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk counties) in state-of-the-art outpatient facilities. The Neurology Department on Long Island provides high quality care by integrating patient care with neuroradiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and neurosurgical subspecialists. The Movement Disorders Division offers opportunities in faculty development through our Faculty Scholars Program (administrative/research/education tracks) clinical and translational research and participation in our QA/QI programs and DEI and wellness agendas. Several opportunities exist to engage and train our medical students, residents and fellows. 

 
The candidate must be Board Certified or Eligible in Neurology and fellowship-trained in Movement Disorders with experience and interest in deep brain stimulation (DBS) and other advanced treatment modalities. Clinical duties include outpatient evaluation and management of patients with movement disorders, neurosurgical referral and collaboration on patient care, DBS programming and botulinum toxin injections when indicated. In addition, the candidate is encouraged to conduct or participate in translational research and clinical trials. Educational duties will include clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, neurology residents and fellows. Participation in community outreach, DEI and wellness agenda and educational activities to support program growth is anticipated.

Compensation ranges from: highly competitive base salary guaranteed plus bonus/incentive compensation. Salary consideration will be from experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
