The Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Marshall Health in Huntington, West Virginia, will provide visionary leadership to advance the division's clinical, educational, and research missions in partnership with the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. The Division currently comprises 2 Pediatric Neurologists with additional facuty being recruited and plays a significant role in the education of the institution's Adult Neurology Residency Program, which includes 15 residents and numerous faculty in various subspecialty disciplines. The Division is integral to a comprehensive neuroscience center that collaborates with the Marshall Health Network—a network of three hospitals and numerous outpatient facilities serving as the clinical arm of the School of Medicine. The center also features a dedicated children's hospital and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Program, offering advanced epilepsy care, pediatric sleep medicine, and a variety of other pediatric subspecialties.

The Division Chief will serve as a key strategic leader, responsible for enhancing clinical services, promoting academic excellence, and cultivating a robust research environment. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished physician leader with a distinguished record of clinical expertise, academic scholarship, and research productivity. Academic appointments will be conferred through the Marshall University School of Medicine, commensurate with the candidate's achievements and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Clinical Services: Optimize and expand clinical services within the Division, ensuring the highest standards of care for pediatric patients.
  • Lead Academic Initiatives: Advance the Division's academic mission by supporting and developing educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Foster Research Excellence: Promote a culture of clinical research as a standard of care and support faculty in conducting innovative research and clinical trials.
  • Pursue External Funding: Strategically seek and secure external funding to align with the School of Medicine's research strategy and priorities.
  • Recruit and Retain Talent: Attract and retain highly qualified faculty to build a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Fiscal and Operational Stewardship: Oversee the Division's fiscal management and operational effectiveness, ensuring sustainability and growth.
