Neurologist Clinical Trialist and Associate Director for Clinical Research. The Department of Neurology, at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is pleased to announce a prestigious job opening for a Neurologist Clinical Trialist and Associate Director for Clinical Research within our distinguished Department of Neurology and The Brain Health Institute. This dual-role position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated and experienced neurologist qualified to be appointed as Associated or Full professor in the Tenure track to lead groundbreaking research and clinical research initiatives in the field of brain disorders and brain health.

Neurologist Clinical Trialist requirements:

  • Lead and oversee clinical trials focused on neurological disorders and brain health.
  • Design and implement innovative research studies in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards in all clinical research activities.
  • Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Obtain extramural funding from federal sources as well as pharma.
  • Provide exceptional clinical care to patients, integrating the latest research findings into practice.
  • Mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical research and neurology.

Director for Clinical Research requirements:

  • Oversee clinical research within The Brain Health Institute, ensuring the highest standards of patient-related research.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and the Institute of Translational Sciences (ITS) to integrate clinical research activities.
  • Manage and optimize clinical research workflows, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Represent the Institute in institutional and external meetings related to clinical research.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to advance clinical research excellence and innovation.

Position Qualifications:

  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, preferably with board certification in Neurology.
  • Extensive experience in conducting clinical trials and maintaining research patient cohorts, with a strong background in neurology.
  • Proven track record of research productivity and scholarly publications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a clinical research setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centered research, academic excellence, and collaborative teamwork.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Texas.

Income Package: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with training and experience. Additional compensation offered for Co-Directorship. Benefits include a relocation allowance, a superior family benefits program and an unsurpassed state retirement program.
