A well-established academic program is seeking academic pediatric and adult neurologists to join their collegial team. Pediatric interests in epilepsy as well as pediatric general, developmental, neuromuscular, headache, movement disorders, and neurocritical care medicine are of particular interest to the group and will be well-supported (though all subspecialists are encouraged to apply). They are seeking Adult Neurologists with subspecialized interests in dementia, movement disorders, headache, neuromuscular, neuro-oncology, neurocritical care and stroke for their Neurological Institute. This is a terrific opportunity to build a busy clinical practice, engage in collaborative research, and teach neurology residents. The dynamic Chief of Neurology is excited to mentor young, talented neurologists or welcome someone with experience.
Pediatric Neurology Practice Highlights:
- Collaborate with the departments of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics
- Dedicated pediatric Epilepsy neurosurgeon
- NAEC Level 4 Designated Comprehensive Epilepsy Center
- Provide instruction to medical students as well as Neurology residents and fellows
- Engage in clinical or bench research
- Join a growing pediatric neurology team supported by APPs, dedicated nurses and support staff
- On-site Children’s Hospital featuring an EMU suite and support services for families
Movement Disorders Practice Highlights:
- Join additional neurologist in Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program
- Collaborate with neurosurgery on DBS treatment and post-surgical management cases
- Actively engaged in clinical research
- Botox treatment for dystonia and spasticity & apomorphine injections for Parkinson’s Disease
- No stroke or trauma call for outpatient neurologists
Neuromuscular Practice Highlights:
- Join current division of 4 neuromuscular neurology subspecialists
- Dedicated clinic sees a wide variety of neuromuscular diseases, such as neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, and polymyositis
- Multidisciplinary team approach for MDA Care Center
- MDA & ALS Certified Treatment Center of Excellence
- No stroke or trauma call for outpatient neurologists
Headache Practice Highlights:
- Brand new Headache Center and Infusion Clinic
- Dedicated clinical support staff
- Comprehensive headache care facility features 12 infusion chairs and 4 private exam rooms
- No stroke or trauma call for outpatient neurologists
Neuro-Oncology Practice Highlights:
- Join dedicated nurse navigator and APP at Brain Tumor & Neuro-Oncology Program
- Cancer Center sees more than 2,000 new cancer patients per year
- Region’s only cancer program approved by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer
- Established weekly Neuro-oncology Tumor Board for collaborative expert review and discussion of patient cases
- Multidisciplinary treatment approach includes 90 board-certified physicians, including neurosurgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology, neuropathology, and neuroradiology
- Leadership opportunity as Medical Director of the Neuro-oncology Program
- Support from new Division Chief of Medical Oncology, Chair of Neurosurgery, and Cancer Center leadership
- No stroke or trauma call for outpatient neurologists
Inpatient Practice Highlights:
- Stroke Inpatient service 12-14 weeks per year
- Neurocritical Care Inpatient service 22-24 weeks per year
- Vascular neurology fellowship program
- UNCS and CAST Certified Neurocritical Care fellowship program
- State of the art 14 bed dedicated Neuro ICU with 13 bed Stepdown unit (including 5-bed EEG monitoring unit)
- Full multimodality neuromonitoring capability
- Provide instruction to Neurology and Neurosurgery residents and Neurology, ICU and Stroke fellows
- Work with Advanced Practice Providers, residents, fellows, and Neuroscience-certified nurses
