The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of diagnosis and management of neurological complications of HIV infection and the public health impact resource-limited settings. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants are required to be Board Certified in Neurology.
Teaching responsibilities may include direct clinical teaching and formal didactic lecturing of residents, fellows, medical students within the Neurology department.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient neurology clinical practice sessions several half-days/week, and 1-2 weeks of inpatient consult attending physician duties each year.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing, leading and/or collaborating independent global clinical research studies in the management of neuroinfectious diseases, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts. The successful candidate will have an established track record of scholarly productivity.
