There may be both home/local hospital duties as well as stroke duties for the system. Vascular neurologists are expected to be part of the acute stroke team (i.e., code strokes: either in-person and/or via telemedicine) and vascular neurology consult service team (for all non-emergent vascular consults for all inpatient vascular consults). Stroke service currently is consultations only but may include primary stroke service in the future. There may be outpatient clinic duties. Inpatient only (neurohospitalist) positions are available. Vascular neurologists are expected to work closely with emergency medicine physicians, neurosurgeons, interventionalists, and neurointensivists, and guide and supervise stroke team members which include stroke APNs and PAs.
