A large Neuroscience Institute in South Florida is actively seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Stroke within the Department of Neurology and also recruiting a neurohospitalist and outpatient neurologists to join its rapidly expanding program. The institute is closely affiliated with a nearby university. The neuroscience institute Director and Chair have built the practice in such a way that the neurology team is embedded into the community and is an extremely collaborative, collegial team. The Stroke Director will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Stroke Division, overseeing all aspects of stroke-related programs at the Institute, as well as in the state and region. They are seeking a creative, innovative, and resourceful physician who will help further develop existing stroke programs and identify potential opportunities for advancement.
The program is very eager to welcome neurohospitalists and outpatient neurologists with training in neuro-oncology, stroke, movement disorders, surgical epilepsy, and cognitive specialists to immediately see 100% specialty volume, though all subspecialists would be well supported.
The new physicians will work at the Neuroscience Institute as part of the Center for Clinical Neurosciences, a physician-led institution consisting of 8 neurosurgery faculty and 11 neurology faculty. The Center is affiliated with a large health system, nationally recognized for providing high-quality care. Faculty in Neurology collaborates closely with colleagues in Neurosurgery to deliver state-of-the-art care for patients with surgically treatable conditions such as ischemic stroke, aneurysms, vascular malformations, and hemorrhages. The Institute also provides support for the development of epilepsy surgery and deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease.

Director of Stroke Neurology Preferred Qualifications include:
- A person of high integrity with a record of significant achievement in medicine
- Strong administrative skills, including finance, strategic planning, policy, and experience in managing administrative functions
- Demonstrated success in developing educational and training programs for students, residents, and fellows
- Excellence in education, educational innovation, and experience with faculty development and mentoring, with a recognized investment in faculty development and mentoring
- Exceptional communication skills, with a track record as a consensus builder and collaborator, demonstrating the ability to provide direction and guidance
- Appreciation of the importance of alignment across entities (School of Medicine, Medical Group, and Hospitals) to achieve goal congruence for the clinical enterprise
- Focused strategy to grow and strengthen subspecialty areas, with a motivation to pursue a level IV NAEC epilepsy center and continue to enhance movement disorders and multiple sclerosis/neuro-immunology, and neuro-oncology programs
