Vascular Neurology position

 

The Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute of the Albany Med Health System is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology to join the Division of Vascular Neurology and the Comprehensive Stroke Center. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, neurointensive care/stroke Advanced Practice Providers, and a 5-member neuroendovascular team available 24/7. The Comprehensive Stroke Center manages 2,800 stroke patients/year, performs 150-200 thrombectomies and admits 250 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and more than 100 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage/ year. The position offers a unique opportunity for an early or mid-career vascular neurologist to practice in a busy academic Stroke service. The practice will include participation in cerebrovascular clinics, coverage of the inpatient service, providing education to the medical students, residents and vascular neurology fellows, as well as conducting research.

The salary range $250-270K represents base salaries for an Assistant or Associate Professor’s appointment. They do not include the incentive bonus that is paid quarterly, which adds significantly to the total compensation.
