Job Details

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking  an Advanced Practice Nurse to join the dynamic and growing team of six physicians at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. The successful candidate will utilize the patient-centered coordinated care model demonstrated through leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision making.  The candidate will work full-time, primarily in the outpatient clinic with the occasional daytime inpatient provider team support to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric neurological conditions. You will participate in clinical trials, educational programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Experience in the field of neurology is preferred but other candidates will be considered.


Opportunity Highlights
Participate in decision-making processes and collaborate amongst teams to advance APRN Practice within the institution. 
Promote APRN practice recognition through various channels such as conferences and publications. 
Provide excellence in patient experience through modeling Service Excellence Standards.
Foster a culture of collaboration among interdisciplinary teams and apply and promote evidence based practices to achieve positive patient outcomes
Evaluate care planning and contribute to policy reviews to incorporate current best practices. 
Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients/families and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and evaluation of outcomes. 
Engage in research as a primary investigator or co-investigator and mentor/review research proposals. Disseminate research findings to enhance the practice of nursing at the local, national and international level via publications and conference attendance.
Monday - Friday schedule with no overnight or weekend call

Qualifications:
Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
Master's degree.
Maintains clinical competencies through participating in continuing educational programs (contact hours per years), and clinical practice as mandated by Board of Nursing and national certification body.
Experience in relevant patient care settings or as regulations dictate.
In collaborative agreement with physicians on staff- fulfills terms of collaborative agreement.
NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
Advance Practice Nurse License.
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Maintains National or Board Certification as appropriate in area of specialty.
