Banner Children’s Specialists (BCS), a multispecialty group on the campuses of Banner Desert Medical Center and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is actively recruiting for a Child Neurologist to join our team in Mesa, AZ. The Neurosciences Division at BCS is expanding to meet the needs of a growing pediatric community. Through a collaborative arrangement between the University of Arizona and Banner Medical Group, Banner Children's serves as the primary pediatric neurology service at the two pediatric hospital campuses for inpatient and outpatient clinics.

Essential Functions and Qualifications 

The team seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Neurologist to become an active member of our  team that will contribute to the division’s clinical care programs such as epilepsy, developmental delays, headaches, tics, Neurogenetics, concussion and trauma. Our goal is to work closely with neuropsychologists and neurosurgeons to provide excellent patient care for the community. We seek candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• BC/BE PEDs Neurology
• Interest in general child neurology plus additional interest or training in specific subspecialty areas such as headaches, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neonatal or neurodevelopmental neurology  
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team setting and communicate effectively.
• Finishing residents and fellows, and experienced physicians, are encouraged to apply. 

Banner Children's at Desert and Thunderbird Medical Centers provide comprehensive pediatric care from general to emergency, as well as services for specific childhood diseases. Highly trained physician specialists, social services staff and numerous integrative therapy programs ensure a complete range of care for children. We have a child-friendly atmosphere accented by soothing colors and dedicated play areas, as well as a volunteer dog therapy program that helps cheer up young patients during their stays. BCS at Desert Medical Center features 248 beds, specially trained nurses and doctors and family-centered care, as well as an expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – from 65 beds to 86 beds.

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is the fourth-largest hospital in the Phoenix metro area with 513 licensed beds. No one in the West Valley provides the level of care to kids that Banner Thunderbird does. BCS offers a dedicated area for pediatrics that includes 40 pediatric inpatient beds and the West Valley’s only pediatric intensive care unit capable of caring for the most critically ill or injured children. In addition, Banner Thunderbird has a separate emergency department for children.
