Neurovascular/Stroke Faculty Position at UCONN Health

The Department of Neurology at UCONN Health (University of Connecticut) is seeking an outstanding clinician educator or clinician scientist with fellowship training in neurovascular disorders and stroke, with academic experience suitable for appointment at the level of Associate or full Professor. UConn John Dempsey Hospital has been certified as both a Primary and Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The successful candidate should be board-eligible or certified in Vascular Neurology and is expected to direct the multidisciplinary stroke program leading to certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, with responsibility for education, outreach, research, data management and quality assurance programs associated with the stroke program, as well as development of telestroke services. Those with clinical or translational research interests in stroke are particularly encouraged to apply. UConn has a shared neurology residency program with Hartford Healthcare that includes 28 residents and a variety of fellowship programs including a Vascular Neurology fellowship, which is expanding to 2 positions annually. The department includes more than 20 faculty members with a wide range of subspecialty interests. UConn John Dempsey Hospital is a modern state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2016, and Neurology Clinic is housed in the beautiful new Brain and Spine Institute Building a half mile from the Hospital. Our suburban Farmington campus is situated in the scenic Farmington River valley, 10 miles west of downtown Hartford and 90 miles from both New York City and Boston. UConn provides a vibrant academic environment invigorated by the Bioscience Connecticut initiative and our on-campus affiliation with the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine.
