MOVEMENT DISORDERS NEUROLOGIST
Maine Medical Partners Neurology has an immediate full-time opening for a BC/BE neurologist with fellowship training in Movement Disorders. The appropriate candidate would join our well-established neurology division, which consists of 23 physicians, including five Pediatric Neurologists, and nine Advanced Practice Providers, with on-site MRI and neurodiagnostic lab. The Neurology group has been the premiere site for neurology care in Maine since 1988. The practice works closely with our Neuroscience Institute to further develop Neuroscience Centers of Excellence in support of our multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular, stroke, epilepsy, and movement disorders programs. An active clinical research program is supported through Maine Medical Center Research Institute. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of two movement disorders specialists, a dedicated nurse practitioner, neuropsychologist, social worker and 1:1 nursing support. Opportunity exists to participate in a robust and well-established movement disorders surgical program serving the entire state of Maine and beyond.
Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and integration with Tufts University Medical School. Candidate will have the opportunity to teach Neurology residents, residents and fellows from other departments, and medical students. Hospital admission service, stroke and telestroke management, and after-hours phone call coverage is provided by a team of dedicated Neurohospitalists. Inpatient coverage is limited to an equitable share of daytime coverage on the consult service 4-5 weeks per year.
The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group.
