Kaiser Permanente / The Permanente Medical Group

The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TPMG - Kaiser Permanente Northern California) is one of the largest medical groups in the nation with over 9,500 physicians, 22 medical centers, numerous clinics throughout Northern and Central California, and a 75-year tradition of providing quality medical care. We currently have the following openings:

NEUROLOGIST

Opening in Modesto, California

Our Modesto Group is actively seeking an outpatient neurology generalist with any subspecialty (except neurohospitalist/stroke). Some of the team have fellowship training, and also see patients in their subspecialty. We can also train for EEG reading, straightforward EMG studies, Botox, trigger point injections, and occipital nerve blocks if interested in learning new skills. The work week is 40 hours with new patients seen for 40 minutes and returning patients are seen for 30-40 minutes as needed. We offer mixed virtual work from home and office. The Group has outpatient clinics located in Stockton and Modesto. Inpatients are covered by our TPMG Neurohospitalists and our team provides coverage when needed for vacation, holidays, etc. Our ideal candidate is trained as a general neurologist, and we welcome all subspecialties and background experience and training. The team values good patient care and a solid work ethic.

GENERAL NEUROLOGIST

Opening in Fresno, California

We are looking for a 4th generalist/specialist able to backup other team specialties. Outpatient practice includes new and return patient evaluation, supervision of EMG Tech for simple carpel tunnel studies, reading your own EEG’s, and possibly EMG’s. Both inpatient and outpatient neurology. Call is 1:5 with 24-hour telestroke coverage. There is also teaching opportunity with UCSF Fresno Internal Medicine residents. There is a separate memory clinic and headache clinic. If you are interested in more stroke practice, there is an option to join telestroke team.

NEUROLOGIST

Opening in Fremont/San Leandro, California

This collegial group has (8) Neurologists covering Fremont and San Leandro, a 30-minute drive. The ideal candidate is a generalist 60-70% and 30-40% subspeciality. Training might be in MS/Immunology; EEG reading is a plus. Weekend call is Friday am through Monday am. Weekday call is 2-3 days in a row. The call day is 7-5 PM at both facilities. The (8) neurologists divide holidays and every 7th weekend. Outside of the workplace, the group often shares birthdays and other activities. There is mutual respect, and everyone shares the workload. Training is an important hiring factor, but work ethic, and team spirit are keys to “fit”.

While primarily outpatient, the group shares in providing some inpatient coverage for vacation, sick leave, and some weekends for our two neurohospitalists. Ideal candidates can read EEGs and have experience and interest in EMG and Botox. Our ideal candidate is interested in leadership participation and may have several years of practice experience.
