Inpatient Stroke Advanced Practice Provider

Rush University Medical Center and the Department of Neurological Sciences are recruiting for a Stroke Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their inpatient team. The APP in this role will join a team of seven vascular attending physicians, neurovascular fellows, neurology residents and 2 fellow APPs overseeing care for our inpatient stroke population located on a dedicated neuro/stroke unit.

The APP must have strong communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, complex work-environment.

This part-time role (0.5 FTE) provides coverage based on a cyclical schedule; working (4)10-hr shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday followed by 10 days off before the next cycle begins.

 

*APRN candidates must have acute care certification. Experience in Stroke or related field preferred, not required. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

 

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush University Medical Center patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the RUMC medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush University Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
