General Neurologist and Neuromuscular Specialist needed to join Mount Sinai’s downtown campus at Union Square!

Position Description:

The Mount Sinai Health System Department of Neurology is seeking two full-time adult neurologists to join the downtown campus located at Union Square. The Mount Sinai-Union Square team includes an outstanding group of neurologists with specialized interests in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis, headache, and neuromuscular disease, as well as general neurology.

We have openings for a full-time general neurologist and a fellowship trained Neuromuscular specialist. Applicants are sought at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that is commensurate with experience and resume. The chosen candidates must have excellent clinical skills, outstanding bedside manner and an interest in outpatient neurology.

The general neurologist will be able to work in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team organized around autoimmune disorders. This team includes providers from the departments of Dermatology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Opthalmology.

The neuromuscular specialist will be able to practice in neuromuscular diseases and will be part of our multidisciplinary ALS Center of Excellence. This recruit will also contribute to the new spine center located at Mount Sinai West near Columbus Circle.

Responsibilities for both positions will include outpatient sessions, inpatient consultations at Mount Sinai West, teaching neurology residents from our ACGME-approved adult neurology residency program, as well as medical students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, during those trainees’ clinical rotations on the neurology inpatient and outpatient services.
