CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR NEUROMUSCULAR NEUROLOGIST

NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE is seeking a fellowship-trained neurologist with an interest in neuromuscular disorders. The ideal candidate will join a team of board-certified neurologists who are fellowship-trained in clinical neuropsychology and neuromuscular neurology; specialty-trained physical, occupational and speech therapists; and advanced practice providers. The neuromuscular team works closely with other specialists who are part of the Norton Neuroscience Institute ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic.

Norton Healthcare has a strong demand for electomyography (EMG) services and is expanding services to four neurophysiology/EMG labs through a new neurodiagnoistic center that will include the latest in EMG and ultrasound technology. This center will be housed in a new Norton Neuroscience Institute comprehensive neuroscience space set to open in summer 2021. Norton Neuroscience Institute is the leading provider for neuroscience services in the area and our neuromuscular program has strong established referral patterns from other Norton Neuroscience Institute neurologists, providers within Norton Medical Group and community providers seeking tertiary expertise throughout the region.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Ability to practice majority neuromuscular neurology
  • No mandatory system stroke call
  • Partner with three fellowship train neuromuscular neurologists 
  • Opportunity to participate in the Norton Neuroscience Institute ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic

  • Opportunity to participate in the annual Norton Neuroscience Institute Symposium, as well as other continuing medical education events

  • For candidates coming out of residency/fellowship, we offer up to $100,000 loan reimbursement, and as a nonprofit health care system, qualify for federal student loan forgiveness

Established in early 2009, Norton Neuroscience Institute is the region's leading provider of neurological care. The division’s clinical team is led by 14 child neurologists , 14 nurse practitioners , 3 child neurology residents a year, social worker, and nurse navigators who evaluate and provide care for more than 14,000 affected children across Kentucky and Southern Indiana each year.
