CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR HEADACHE MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

THE NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE HEADACHE PROGRAM is seeking a fellowship-trained headache medicine physician. Featuring a team of headache specialists certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, this program is leading the way in developing innovative care models for headache medicine. It also serves as a regional referral center for patients seeking the most up-to-date treatment options and clinical trials.

The program is a part of Norton Neuroscience Institute, which features several multispecialty neurology programs, allowing providers to focus on care for a specific discipline or patient population. A comprehensive suite of patient resources is available through the Norton Neuroscience Institute Resource Center, which provides support groups; therapeutic and exercise programs; assistance with disability, employment, housing and financial decisions; and an on-site registered nurse navigator to assist with patient education and facilitating care.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Opportunity to practice exclusively in headache medicine
  • Opportunity to participate in an established telehealth program featuring an innovative approach to patient care
  • Competitive compensation package, including sign-on bonus, relocation assistance and production bonus option
  • Candidates coming out of residency/fellowship are offered up to $100,000 recruitment incentive and may qualify for federal student loan forgiveness through our nonprofit health care system
  • Experienced candidates relocating into the market are offered a retention bonus of up to $60,000
  • Option to provide inpatient coverage for additional compensation
  • Ability to provide on-call stroke coverage, which includes additional call compensation; not required
  • Additional bonus available based on productivity, quality metrics and physician engagement
  • Participation in annual continuing medical education symposiums within Norton Neuroscience Institute
  • Research opportunities and support available through the Norton Healthcare Research Office

Established in early 2009, Norton Neuroscience Institute is the region's leading provider of neurological care. The comprehensive program is led by more than 34 subspecialty, fellowship-trained neurosurgeons, neurologists and neuropsychologists, as well as 35 advanced practice providers who are trained to provide patients and their families with advanced treatment for complex neurological disorders, including ALS; aneurysms; brain tumors; epilepsy; headache and concussion; movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease; multiple sclerosis; pediatric neurosurgery; spinal injuries and disorders; stroke; and more. Norton Children’s Neuroscience Institute, a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, represents one of the largest pediatric subspecialty groups in Kentucky. The division’s clinical team is led by 14 child neurologists , 14 nurse practitioners , 3 child neurology residents a year, social worker, and nurse navigators who evaluate and provide care for more than 14,000 affected children across Kentucky and Southern Indiana each year. We evaluate and treat children living with complex health conditions and diseases, ranging from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and cerebral palsy to epilepsy and Tourette syndrome.
