The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Neuroscience Institute is recruiting full time Vascular Neurologist to join our team located at our Comprehensive Stroke Center, Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh PA.

 

In addition, Allegheny Health Network’s Enterprise Equitable Health Institute is creating a national model for the recruitment of health professionals that are committed to the health equity and to the inclusion of underrepresented individuals in medicine (URiM). The Talent Attraction Program Pittsburgh (TAPP) Loan Repayment & Retention Program offers loan repayment up to $60,000 per year to qualifying applicants.

 

Job Duties:

  • Skilled clinician with Vascular Neurology Fellowship training to manage inpatient stroke service, participate in Telestroke service coverage, and staff outpatient vascular neurology clinic.
  • Participate in the training and education of neurology residents.
  • Be a team player and active participant in the development of the cerebrovascular program.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology
  • Pennsylvania License
  • Vascular Neurology Fellowship

 

Requirements for the TAPP Program:

  • Completion of separate application
  • Function as liaison between Allegheny Clinic or the applicable Allegheny Health Network institute and the resident community, including for selected disciplinary efforts
  • Work with Enterprise Equitable Health Institute as part of its recruitment, retention, and promotion initiatives

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has a total of 6 Joint Commission certified stroke centers including the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Allegheny General Hospital in the city of Pittsburgh and 5 Primary Stroke Center hospitals (PSCs) located around western Pennsylvania. At Allegheny General Hospital, we care for more than 2,500 cerebrovascular patients each year. Our acute stroke response teams use the InTouch platform for Telestroke consultations to support our AHN PSCs and physicians treating acute strokes in community hospitals throughout western Pennsylvania. Our AHN stroke centers leverage RAPID software for CTA and CTP imaging. In addition to our Neuroscience Institute housing the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, we also have a Neuroscience Research Center home to multiple cerebrovascular research studies such as CHARM and ENRICH.

About the Neuroscience Institute at AHN

AHN’s Neuroscience Institute integrates leading medical experts in the subspecialties of neurology, neuro-otology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuroradiology, neuro-critical care, and neurosurgery to offer highly advanced care for patients with the most complex neurological disorders. Recognized as both a Neuroscience Center of Excellence and a Spine Center of Excellence, the program serves as a national and international referral center for treatment of all types of neurological conditions.

The Neuroscience Institute currently staffs 28 neurologists who specialize in a myriad of neurological disorders, including; General Neurology, MS, Epilepsy, Stroke, Headache, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Neuro-psyche testing Spasticity, EMG’s, Neuro-muscular disorders, ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, Parkinson’s/Movement Disorders, and Concussion.

The Allegheny General Neurology Residency Program has five (5) approved residency positions per year. Through ‘Advanced-link’ it combines four (4) years of training into our ACGME-accredited preliminary Internal Medicine and Neurology Residency Programs.
