UT Health San Antonio is seeking an established, academically-accomplished Neurologist to serve as the Division Chief of Neuromuscular Neurology. Reporting to Dr. Carlayne Jackson, President-Elect of the AAN, the Chief will have the opportunity to grow the program with a goal of becoming a destination program for the South Texas region. The incoming Chief will build and shape a division while working alongside impressive, well-established colleagues.

Recently, UT Health San Antonio became an ALS Center of Excellence; the ALS Clinic is comprised of physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, genetic counseling and respiratory therapy.  Furthermore, Dr. Jackson is a national pioneer in multi-disciplinary neurological care and will be a strong proponent for continued growth and support in this area.

Additionally, UT Health San Antonio will be opening a new 5-story Center for Brain Health in 2024. The new center will include ample multi-disciplinary clinical space as well as clinical trials infrastructure. This expansion speaks to UTHSA’s major investment and commitment to treat neurology patients and reduce wait times throughout the region.

We believe this is an outstanding career opportunity for the following reasons:

  • UT Health San Antonio recently became an ALS Center of Excellence.
  • Will be opening a new 5-story Center for Brain Health the end of 2024.
  • Recently launched a fellowship program in June 2023.
  • Our faculty are all well-established professionals in the field.
  • There is overwhelming community need and enthusiasm for UT Health San Antonio investing in Neurosciences.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a division supported not only by the institution, but the community at large, to make a real impact in neurological care.
