CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR MOVEMENT DISORDERS NEUROLOGIST

NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE is seeking a fellowship-trained movement disorders neurologist to provide movement disorder services. The ideal candidate will join a team with a fellowship-trained movement disorder neurologist, fellowship-trained functional neurosurgeons, two board-certified neuropsychologists, specialty-trained physical/occupational/speech therapists, advanced practice providers and a nurse navigator, practicing in a dedicated Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders center. Our movement disorders team has strong referral patterns from other Norton Neuroscience Institute neurologists, providers within Norton Medical Group and providers seeking tertiary expertise throughout the region.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Ability to practice majority movement disorder neurology
  • No mandatory system stroke call
  • Endowed chair opportunity available to support research focused on Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
  • Close collaboration with Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Monthly multidisciplinary deep brain stimulation (DBS) conference to discuss surgical candidates
  • Opportunity to work with fellowship-trained functional neurosurgeons experienced in awake and asleep DBS surgery
  • Opportunity to participate in the annual Norton Neuroscience Institute Symposium, as well as other continuing medical education events
  • Weekly neuroscience clinical conference with neurosurgery and neurology providers
  • Research opportunities and support available through the Norton Healthcare Research Office
  • Competitive compensation package, including sign-on bonus, relocation assistance and a production bonus option
  • For candidates coming out of residency/fellowship, we offer up to $100,000 loan reimbursement, and as a nonprofit health care system, qualify for federal student loan forgiveness
  • For experienced candidates relocating into the market, we offer a retention bonus of up to $60,000

Established in early 2009, Norton Neuroscience Institute is the region's leading provider of neurological care. Norton Children’s Neuroscience Institute, a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, represents one of the largest pediatric subspecialty groups in Kentucky. The division’s clinical team is led by 14 child neurologists , 14 nurse practitioners , 3 child neurology residents a year, social worker, and nurse navigators who evaluate and provide care for more than 14,000 affected children across Kentucky and Southern Indiana each year. We evaluate and treat children living with complex health conditions and diseases, ranging from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and cerebral palsy to epilepsy and Tourette syndrome.
