The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of neurodegenerative disease. Candidates with experience in Parkinson’s Disease will be prioritized. Applicants with research focused on basic disease mechanisms or translational research are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include mentoring of graduate and medical students is an integral component of this position.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include demonstrating continuous scholarly productivity and scientific impact at national level and developing a strong reputation for generating independent extramural funding.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program that aligns with our institutional efforts to support basic mechanistic research that will lead to clinically actionable insights that improve the care of patients with aging-related neurodegenerative diseases.
