Job Summary: The Division of Neurocritical Care, in collaboration with the 64-bed multidisciplinary Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (Neuro-ICU) at the Barrow Neurological Institute/CommonSpirit dba St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center provides comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge care in one of the largest dedicated Neuro-ICUs nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high volume, diverse, and medically complex patient population, a phenomenal multidisciplinary group of highly collaborative neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons, specialized nurses, pharmacists, and intensivists and help build a growing division. Teaching responsibilities will include bedside and didactic instruction of medical students, neurological and neurosurgical Residents, rotating Fellows, nurses and advanced practice providers. We function as a cohesive division with an expectation of camaraderie, teamwork and professionalism.
Job Specifications: Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be Board certified/Board eligible in Neurocritical Care by UCNS or ABPN. Candidates are required to have completed a Fellowship in Neurocritical Care prior to the proposed start date and have the ability to obtain an Arizona state medical license. Competence in basic critical care procedures such as central venous catheterization, arterial line catheterization, airway and ventilator management, and bronchoscopy is required.
