The University of Michigan Medical School seeks a well-trained epileptologist, for a clinical academic position to join a group of 11 Epilepsy specialists with a busy pre-surgical program, significant available health services research endeavor, and inpatient monitoring service.  We have 6 fellows per year, and teaching will be an important part of this role.  The job can be adjusted to the interests of the applicant, but is a full time clinical position projected to include some ambulatory epilepsy care, inpatient epilepsy/ICU monitoring, pre-surgical evaluation, intraoperative monitoring (IOM), and being part of a team for neuromodulation therapies after implantation. 

The position is a full time clinical effort (80% with 20% administrative time) including: 

  • outpatient epilepsy clinic
  • inpatient epilepsy monitoring (ICU, diagnostic and presurgical)
  • outpatient EEG analysis
  • involvement with IOM, mapping, and post implantation care

Minimum Requirements: 

  • MD or MD/PhD degrees or equivalent 
  • Eligible to work in the United States and to be licensed in the State of Michigan 
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Some prior experience with mapping and IOM, although IOM training can be offered on site
  • training in presurgical evaluations
  •  training in VNS applications
  • enthusiasm for teaching fellows and residents in an academic setting
