Movement Disorders Outpatient Neurologist – LSU Health Shreveport

The Department of Neurology at LSU Health Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks a BC/BE Neurologist with fellowship training in Movement Disorders for a full-time faculty position at an academic rank determined by the level of experience and qualifications.

We are looking for a dynamic person to further develop our Movement Disorders Center. This full-time outpatient movement disorders physician will exclusively care for patients with movement disorders, lead a neuromodulation program in collaboration with a functional neurosurgeon and participate in our ongoing Parkinson’s disease outreach efforts. There are tremendous opportunities for collaborative translational research, including clinical trials, in the region. It is our expectation that a Movement Disorders fellowship program can be established in the near future.

The position comes with an attractive compensation package with a guaranteed base salary and supplemental pay determined by productivity, quality, and extramural funding.

The successful candidate is expected to have an active role in medical student and Neurology resident education as well as departmental activities including supervision in resident clinic, grand rounds as well as didactic conferences. We can sponsor J-1 visas.
