The Epilepsy and Sleep Division at Columbia University Irving Medical is seeking a full-time tenure track adult epilepsy specialist who focuses on clinical research preferably on epilepsy surgery at the assistant professor level. Applicants must be board certified/eligible in neurology, have fellowship training in epilepsy/EEG, be board certified or eligible in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology, and have epilepsy research experience. Applicants must be licensed in New York State before appointment begins. Initial protected time to focus on research and grant applications will be provided. Continued research time will be contingent on ability to obtain grant funding. The position will include outpatient evaluation of epilepsy patients and interpretation of EEG and video-EEG studies. Teaching of epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology fellows and neurology residents is also expected. M.D., board certification in Neurology, and board eligibility/certification in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology, and clinical research experience is required. Having a graduate degree focused on clinical research methods is preferrable. Faculty rank is expected to be at the Assistant level. Candidates must provide evidence of training, research experience and publications and have some teaching experience. Must be able to meet New York Presbyterian and ColumbiaDoctors credentialing.
