The Department of Neurology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and the No. 2 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking an academic General Neurologist.  UT Southwestern is recognized for offering an exceptional level of expertise in General Neurology, providing effective treatment options based on the latest research and the highest standards of care. General Neurology Faculty in the Department are a vibrant group of clinicians and researchers.

The Department also has a robust departmental Faculty Development Program consisting of a didactic series on how to be successful in academics and a dedicated mentorship program provided by senior faculty members for each junior member; each faculty member is assigned a mentor. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas 
  • Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for adult or child neurology
  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in clinical medicine, interpersonal interactions, communication, teamwork skills and be a motivated self-starter
  • Faculty members are expected to participate in academic and clinical research activities 

 

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
