The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for the position of Chair of the Clinical Neurosciences Department.

As Chair of the Clinical Neurosciences Department, this individual will set the standards of intellectual engagement and accomplishment for the department. The Chair will provide strategic leadership and vision to achieve excellence in all aspects of the academic mission. The Chair will work to assure faculty excellence through recruitment, faculty development, and evaluation of merit for promotion and tenure. Additionally, as the primary executive officer of the department, the Chair will work closely with the CFO on budget planning.

Minimum Qualification:  

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of associate professor or higher. Applicants must have significant teaching experience and demonstrated teaching excellence.

A Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure and active or eligible for board certification in an appropriate specialty. 

Candidates with experience and a proven record of broad and progressive administrative leadership, new program development, budget and financial management skills, and an ability to effectively communicate and mentor faculty, students, and staff of all levels are preferred.

Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and an ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds.
