Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist with Pain Medicine Specialization

The Department of Neurology at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible colleague with Pain Medicine specialization.  We are seeking a physician with primary training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) or Neurology.  Non-ACGME and ACGME Pain fellowship trained doctors are welcome to apply, as well as those with Sports Medicine fellowship training.

About the Position

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree. Fellowship training (ACGME or non-ACGME Pain fellowship) PMR or Neurology board certified or board eligible All levels of experience considered Demonstrated commitment to encouraging and respecting diverse perspectives and opinions

Desired Qualifications:

• Neuromuscular procedures beyond spine injections Broad experience with various pain populations

Candidates will be considered for multiple positions. Ideal candidates can have a focus in outpatient clinic, fluoroscopy procedures, education or research, as Boston medical center is expanding its multidisciplinary outpatient and inpatient pain service, as well as pursuing an ACGME-accredited fellowship program. 

Salary structure and compensation plan is competitive for academic Pain medicine.  The position offers an opportunity for program leadership and development.

About the Pain, Headache, and Interventional Pain Division

The Pain, Headache, and Interventional Pain Program at Boston Medical Center provides consultation for inpatients and outpatients as well as a full range of therapeutic options. For nearly ten years, our group has been at the forefront of pain management. We are proud to be one of the few multidisciplinary pain management groups in an academic Neurology department. Our headache specialists are experts in both oral and injectable pharmacological interventions including anti-GCRP therapies and botulinum injections. Our specialists also work closely with inpatient neurology in cases of refractory headaches necessitating admission for intravenous medications. For somatic and body pain, our specialists provider the most up-to-date care via medications, interventional procedures, physical therapy regimens, and implantable devices. They also work closely with orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery specialists to provider multidisciplinary care.

Our specialists approach most cases initially with conservative treatments to effectively reduce your pain and improve our patients’ quality of life and function. If conservative measures are insufficient, our specialists offer the full spectrum of minimally invasive procedure-based treatments ranging from basic injections to state-of-the-art implantable therapies. They also work closely with orthopedic and neurosurgery specialists to discuss surgical interventions if needed.
