The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical Neurology or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full, Professor rank with training and expertise in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology.

Faculty in the Clinical Neurology series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service.

For the Clinical Neurology series, a research or clinical translational background in neuroimmunology is required.

Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will join an established multi-specialty Neurology team and provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents, and fellows; and provide university/public service. The UC Davis Department of Neurology and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. The UC Davis MS / Neuroimmunology program was first established in 1996, focused on clinical care and research in Multiple Sclerosis. The program includes two full-time faculty MS neurology providers at the assistant and full professor ranks as well as one nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience on the MS team.

The Neurology clinic provides a dedicated MS team RN and MA, with additional support of authorization coordinator, social work, and clinical pharmacists. UC Davis infusion centers support insurance authorizations and provide flexible scheduling that includes weekends.

The UC Davis MS program is actively involved in industry- and NIH- sponsored clinical trials research. There are also opportunities for investigator-initiated basic science and clinical research studies. UC Davis has a centralized IRB, departmental grant support, clinical research coordinators, and research facilities. The NIH funded UC Davis CTSC offers opportunities for additional training, including the K30 Training Program for a Masters in Clinical Research.
