Director, Neurology Consultation Service

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Intramural Research Program is seeking a Staff Clinician to lead the Neurology Consultation Service at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The Neurology Consultation Service provides neurological evaluations and advice on the care of primarily adult and some pediatric inpatients and outpatients who are enrolled in clinical protocols at the Clinical Center. The candidate will direct a consult team composed of nurses, fellows, and other trainees. Some effort will be protected for research, teaching and administration.  Experience with the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of neurological problems, particularly related to oncological, immunological, and genetic disorders, is important. The applicant should hold a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and meet the requirements to be credentialed at the NIH Clinical Center. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated leadership ability, and relevant training in clinical care and research.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A full civil service package of benefits (including retirement, health, life and long-term care insurance, Thrift Savings Plan, etc.) is available.

Applicants should send curriculum vitae, including bibliography, statement of research interests and a list of three references to: Katy Finnell via email: finnellk@nih.gov  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
