The Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine is accepting applications for the Chief of Neurology at Bridgeport Hospital. Bridgeport Hospital has 501 licensed beds with more than 60 sub-specialties and 230 residents and fellows. The hospital is part of Yale-New Haven Health System and a key practice site for the Yale Department of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine. Bridgeport Hospital has seen tremendous growth over the past few years and the department is looking for an experienced leader to help continue this growth with the expansion of additional services.
Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, be board certified or board eligible, and meet requirements for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut. The essential duties for this position include: 1) managing and leading the neurology service at Bridgeport Hospital 2) overseeing and participating in the inpatient consult service, 2) serving as the clinical leader for neurology services at all Bridgeport Hospital campuses, 3) working with hospital and departmental leadership, including neurosurgery and other key partners, to help build and grow neurological programs, 4) teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. It is anticipated that this position will be predominantly inpatient based but candidates with additional interests in outpatient care are highly encouraged to apply.
