The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) – Department of Neurology:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) was established in 1973.  It has a long-standing history and tradition in the practice and advancement of Clinical Neurosciences by providing the most comprehensive care to patients with neurologic illnesses from Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, stroke as well as other acute neurologic injuries.  The department also has a robust laboratory research program that is particularly focused at advancing our knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders.  In addition, UTMB has a highly regarded, fully accredited neurology residency training program.

 

 

Faculty Neurophysiologist:  

The Department of Neurology, at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking a Neurophysiologist (focused on EEG/EMG) to join our faculty.  General responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide patient care in Adult Neurology Outpatient Clinic including performing EMGs.
  • Participate in call rotations with other faculty in the adult area for both General Neurology and EEG.
  • Participate in coverage in the ward/consult service for adult care.
  • Provide coverage for other Neurology faculty members in their absence.
  • Participation in the teaching/instruction of medical students and residents.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • MD degree or equivalent.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
  • Texas state medical licensure.
  • Neuromuscular Fellowship to include EEG and EMG training is strongly preferred.
