Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a BE/BC Neurosurgeon to join a superb group of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuro-interventional radiologists dedicated to building a stellar neurovascular service line. 

 Practice Highlights:

  • Hospital employed
  • Established  team of 3 Neurosurgeons, 2 Ortho Spine Surgeons and 9 Physician Assistants
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-hospitalist support

Our ideal candidate will be willing to practice the breadth of general neurosurgery with a focus in neurovascular care. The successful candidate will be a superior interdisciplinary teacher and communicator, and committed to ongoing resident and staff education.  Interest and participation in clinical research is encouraged.  Strong clinical and interpersonal skills and involvement in process improvement work are required

Qualifications

  • BE/BC Neurosurgeon 
  • Fellowship or advanced training in vascular neurosurgery preferred
  • Open vascular and endovascular expertise preferred
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
  • ACLS required
  • BLS required

Our collaborative cross disciplinary approach draws on the talents and recognized expertise of leading clinicians in neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care and interventional neuroradiology. Our team practices the full range of adult neurosurgery with relatively light trauma call.

  • Virginia Mason Hospital has been a TJC accredited primary stroke center since 2004.  
  • The VM Stroke Center received the Stand up for Patient Safety Award from the National Patient Safety Foundation in 2008
  • Recognized with the AHA/ASA Gold-Plus (Sustained) Achievement Award for three consecutive years.  

Virginia Mason's Neuroscience Institute is a leading center for neurosurgery, neurology and neurological rehabilitation in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
