Evelyn F. McKnight Cognitive Neurology and Aging Research Scholar Opportunity

The Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Miami is offering a 1-year or 2-year Cognitive Aging Research Scholar opportunity. This scholarship will provide the opportunity to obtain clinical and research training in cognitive neurology and cognitive aging research.  The scholarship will provide the candidate with translational research skills and a formal research degree if appropriate. Our goal is to train candidates to excel in clinical care and research, in preparation for a primarily academic career and to become a leader in the field of neurocognitive disorders and brain health.

The scholarship offers a cross-disciplinary mentorship approach to stimulate collaborative research and provide the best clinical training opportunities in the Department of Neurology Cognitive Division and the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute. The scholar will obtain a broad education in the clinical, neuropsychological, radiological, and biomarker aspects of normal aging and neurodegenerative disorders.  The scholar will focus on learning about normal brain changes in aging by strengthening our collaborative intra-institutional relationships to attend and participate in seminars, clinics, and research projects across departments, Centers and Institutes, and across disciplines.

Preference will be given to a MD or DO with residency training in neurology, psychiatry or geriatric medicine, immediately after residency or up to 5 years post residency.

Please send a letter of interest with accomplishments and CV to Tatjana Rundek, MD, PhD at trundek@miami.edu or Susan Fox-Rosellini, MBA at sfoxrose@miami.edu
