The individual will develop and implement ideas, in a highly collaborative fashion, to ensure that NINDS opens pathways through creative programs for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees in an effort to attract and retain the best and most diverse scientists to careers in neuroscience. In addition, the individual will catalyze efforts across the NIH through their leadership for extramural trans-NIH neuroscience scientific workforce diversity programs such as the NIH Blueprint to Advance Neuroscience and the Brain Research Through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies® (BRAIN) Initiative, and through their leadership for intramural programs in the Porter Neuroscience Research Center, which houses neuroscientists from 10 institutes and centers across the NIH. The Neuroscience Scientific Diversity Officer will report to the Director, NINDS.
