Outstanding Behavioral Neurologist Faculty Opportunity

Department of Neurology

 

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is expanding on a range of existing neurological programs with includes growth in our Behavioral Neurology division. Under the direction of the Department of Neurology leadership we are seeking a behavioral neurologist to participate in clinical and programmatic activities which supports the Neurobehavior program, neurology clinic and medical center’s mission of quality patient care, research, teaching and community service.  

 

Cognitive/Behavioral Neurologist: This academic appointment requires providing tertiary clinical services, participating in clinical research activities, and teaching residents, fellows, and medical students the principles of cognitive and behavioral neurology. Primary responsibilities will be to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients across the spectrum of neurocognitive disorders in the Cedars-Sinai Memory Disorders Clinic. Clinical responsibilities will also include 3-4 weeks of inpatient neurology service, rotations, and staffing the resident neurology clinic.  This faculty member will also play a major role in mentoring residents and fellows, leading didactics and contributing to the Behavioral Neurology fellowship curriculum.  Additional responsibilities will be participating as a principal or sub investigator in the clinical trial program and other ongoing clinical research activities focusing on Alzheimer’s disease. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with an established multidisciplinary support team including nurse practitioners, neuropsychologist and social worker dedicated to providing support to the Memory Disorder Program and pursue teaching and research opportunities in a collaborative environment.       

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree from an accredited medical school
  • Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or recognized equivalent
  • Fellowship training in Neurobehavior
  • Board Certification or board-eligible by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS)
  • Unrestricted California license as Physician
  • Medical Center Medical Staff Membership
  • Evidence of excellence in patient care
  • Track record of exceptional academic, clinical, and professional accomplishment
