Epilepsy/CNP Fellowship Position starting July 1, 2022
The Weill Cornell Medicine-New York Presbyterian Hospital has an open Fellowship position starting July 1, 2022. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for both Epilepsy & Clinical Neurophysiology. The interested candidate can choose to do one year of clinical neurophysiology or one year of an epilepsy fellowship.
- Upon completion of a one-year clinical neurophysiology fellowship, the trainee is eligible to apply for Certification in the Subspecialty of Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN-CNP).
- Upon completion of a one year epilepsy fellowship, the trainee is eligible to apply for Certification in the Subspecialty of Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN-Epilepsy).
BC/BE neurologists or individuals who are in the PGY4 of their adult neurology residency training are eligible to apply.
The Weill Cornell Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a NAEC level IV Epilepsy Center located in the Weill Cornell campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital. The trainees are supervised and mentored by 6 adult epileptologist and 4 pediatrics epileptologist in a comprehensive training program focusing on diagnosis and management of epilepsy, including EEG, ambulatory EEG, video EEGs (including stereo-EEG and gird/strip implantations), bedside and intraoperative cortical mapping, epilepsy surgery, pharmacologic management, and neuromodulation (VNS, RNS and DBS) as well as exposure to ketogenic diet in epilepsy clinic. The Clinical Neurophysiology Fellows have additional robust IOM training as well as oncologic neurophysiology in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital by 6 trained adult neurophysiologists. Both programs participate in twice weekly didactic lectures that covers both clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy topics as well as weekly combined pediatrics and adult surgical epilepsy conference.
