The Division of Neurology at the Long Beach VA Medical Center seeks multiple full-time neurology staff physicians, particularly in the areas of vascular neurology, behavioral neurology, and headache/TBI (traumatic brain injury). Ideal applicants will be fellowship trained, as well as board certified or board eligible in Neurology and in their subspecialty. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in clinical excellence with a commitment to education. Previous experience in teaching is highly recommended, as all our inpatient services and outpatient clinics have residents working with attendings.

The Long Beach VA Healthcare System is a tertiary care facility that serves the needs of more than 50,000 veterans in Orange County and Los Angeles County through one main campus and seven community-based outpatient clinics. Our main campus is the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, which is a state-of-the-art teaching hospital providing a full range of health services including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and extended care programs for our veterans. Additionally, the Long Beach VA is committed to supporting research and educational programs to lead the way in improving tomorrow’s healthcare. 

The Long Beach VA Neurology Division is a rapidly growing academic program strongly affiliated with the University of California, Irvine. We are in beautiful Southern California, and the hospital is about a mile away from the Pacific Ocean. The Long Beach area is near Los Angeles, San Diego, multiple world renowned beaches, and snow-capped mountains, which provide a wealth of year-round cultural and recreational opportunities.

The Long Beach VA Medical Center provides an excellent compensation and benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Faculty appointment, based on academic credentials, will be available through University of California, Irvine. Unrestricted licensure in any state and US citizenship are required.
