Adult Neuro-Hospitalist Position at Baptist Health South Florida, Miami

The Miami Neuroscience Institute, part of the Baptist Health South Florida health system, is seeking a board eligible, fellowship trained neurologist as neuro-hospitalist to join an expanding program in clinical neurosciences.  The position would involve helping to establish a dedicated fellowship trained neuro hospitalist program at Baptist health in cooperation with existing neurosurgical and general hospitalist faculty and planning for additional members of a comprehensive neuro hospitalist program.  The facility is a high performing Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center currently licensed for 938 inpatient beds and has a 100 bed emergency room along with state-of-the-art new neuro intensive care unit and stepdown units.  The position would be available with a start date of August 2022.  The Miami Neuroscience Institute is planning an expansion of neurology services to be housed in a new building to be constructed in the next 2 to 4 years.

Candidates for this position are Physicians who are BE/BC in neurology, have completed fellowship training at a US based neuro-hospitalist program. This physician will join an already established high volume neurosciences center practice at Miami Neuroscience Institute at Baptist Health South Florida.  Responsibilities would include coordinating comprehensive neuro hospitalist services and assisting with planning for future physicians to provide full-time neuro hospitalist coverage.  In addition, the candidate will have a Faculty appointment in Neurology at Florida International University. The Academic Appointment includes training of Medical Students from FIU and participation in training courses and conferences. Participation and development of independent clinical or basic science research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, present at national and international meetings, is an essential component of the Academic Activity of the Miami Neuroscience Institute.
