A stand-alone neuroscience center of excellence in Southeastern Florida is recruiting general neurologists and neurohospitalists. Neurologists of all subspecialties are encouraged to apply, though there is a specific need for neurocritical care, vascular, and outpatient neurologists. The team at this institute is embedded into the community and is an extremely collaborative, collegial team. The team is looking for career-focused neurologists who are looking to build a productive, energetic practice.

Medical Center Highlights:

  • Teaching Opportunities are available with neurology residents starting its fourth year in Fall 2020
  • Research Opportunities are available
  • Clinical Trials are available

Neurocritical Care Highlights:

  • 7-on/7-off schedule
  • 20-bed neuro-ICU (8 active beds with 12 beds in step-down that can be converted)

Vascular Neurohospitalist Highlights:

  • 7-on/7-off schedule
  • Approximately 5 consults/day between two local hospitals
  • 2 opportunities are available

Outpatient Opportunity Highlights:

  • Support to build any outpatient subspecialty in the context of general neurology
  • Opportunity for 100% Cognitive Neurology volume
  • Opportunity to build to >50% subspecialty volume in EEG/EMG, MS, Movement Disorders, & Sleep
  • 2-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Long Term Monitoring (in process of expanding to 4 beds)
  • DBS neurosurgeon available
  • Optional clinic time when on call to build RVU bonuses
  • Flexible scheduling in the clinic with one day per week dedicated to the administrative time
  • Telemedicine is available to alleviate acute stroke call

Residency Program Director Highlights:

  • Faculty Opportunity
  • Protected Administrative & Research time
  • Serve as the lead attending on patient care teams and the clinical site director
  • Ensure that all operations of the Neurology residency program are in compliance with  ACGME requirements, and conduct the program in a fashion consistent with the needs of the community
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive educational program
  • Establish and maintain a Clinical Competency Committee, and conduct semi-annual formative/summative evaluations of all residents
  • Establish and maintain a Program Evaluation Committee and conduct an annual program evaluation and action plan for program improvement
  • Serve on the College of Medicine’s Graduate Medical Education Committee
  • Clinical Trials are available
