Job Details

The Department of Neurology at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center seeks to add an adult Epileptologist to join our growing Epilepsy Center.  We have a growing pediatric and adult epilepsy program. Our multidisciplinary team includes two epilepsy neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, a neuropsychologist, and EEG technologists with a full complement of diagnostic and therapeutic tools and technologies including PET, advanced MRI, stereotactic laser ablation, responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation, vagal nerve stimulation, robotic depth electrode placement, and an active intracranial monitoring program. Our Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory (EEG) provides a full array of services including routine, ambulatory and long-term adults, children, and neonatal video-EEGs. We provide continuous EEG monitoring services to the neuro, medical, trauma and pediatric ICUs.

Clinical duties will include providing EEG and epilepsy services in the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, as attending in our new state-of-the-art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, reading EEGs and participation in the inpatient consult team and epilepsy outpatient clinics.  Applicants with interests in surgical epilepsy, continuous EEG monitoring, and student/resident education are of particular interest. Applicants with interest and experience in research are encouraged to apply.

This position is ideally suited for an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual interested in being part of a growing epilepsy program that offers an excellent mix of both medical and surgical epilepsy cases. Expertise is required in the specific area of acute, chronic, and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, intracranial electroencephalography, ICU monitoring and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, laser interstitial thermal therapy, intra and extra-operative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
