The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Division of Neuromuscular Disease within the Department of Neurology is seeking candidates for a faculty position available for neurologists with fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology (EMG Track) or Neuromuscular Medicine. This position is for the clinical practice of electrodiagnostic and neuromuscular medicine with opportunities for collaborative basic, translational and clinical trials research. This is an open rank position, dependent upon experience and qualifications. There are excellent facilities including the seven-room EMG Laboratory, a dedicated suite for muscle, nerve and skin biopsies, and the newly refurbished Shin J. Oh Muscle and nerve Histopathology laboratory where over 500 specimens are interpreted per year, and the Kirklin Clinic, where neuromuscular outpatients are evaluated. The division also provides services through the Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic, the only one in the State of Alabama, covering a wide spectrum of neuromuscular disorders, with particular interest in motor neuron disease.
