Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a Neurologist with expertise in general to join our Decatur Illinois division.  This is an exciting time to be a part of the growth and expansion of a regional Neuroscience Institute serving the patients of central Illinois .  SIU SOM offers a dynamic, challenging, busy and satisfying position within the School of Medicine.  The position will primarily be out-patient with Neuro-Hospitalists  managing inpatient call at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
 
Highlights of the position and area include: 
Join the SIU SOM team as we expand our Neuroscience Institute services.
Train SIU Medical Students and Family Medicine Residents 
General neurologist is preferred but a subspecialist willing to do mostly general neurology will be considered.  
Join 3 other established Neurologists.
Call is 1:4
NO STROKE CALL - 2 stroke critical care NP’s will take stroke call, then refer to stroke specialists with SIU School of Medicine.
Neuro-Hospitalists cover inpatient at Decatur Memorial Hospital
Opportunities to  participate in clinical trials.

Qualifications: Board certified/board eligible in Neurology.. Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Illinois.
