Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is seeking a movement disorders neurologist to oversee the outpatient clinical services of the Division of Movement Disorders within the Department of Neurology. Hospital title will be Associate Neurologist and academic title of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School (HMS) will be commensurate with experience and scholarship in the field. They will become an integral member of the Division of Movement Disorders, leading the Division’s clinical operations including patient care quality, access, efficiency, satisfaction, and performance of such clinical services provided for patients and families. They will ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical practice operations and represent the Division on clinical operations matters. The Director will work closely with the Chair and Division Chief to implement a clinical strategy that aligns with Department and hospital goals and objectives and will mentor teams towards achievement of such goals. Outside of this primary objective, the position can be tailored to the candidate with opportunities in teaching, mentoring, and clinical research. The candidate will establish their own clinical practice within the Division. Time will be protected to ensure the candidate can adequately attend to their administrative role. We anticipate this protected time to be 20% effort, but this will be tailored to the candidate.
The Division of Movement Disorders at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital works in close concert with its counterpart division at the Massachusetts General Hospital providing exciting collaborative opportunities. Our Division faculty frequently see and recruit patients for clinical research at both sites.
Candidates should have a Massachusetts license to practice medicine and must be board-eligible or certified in Neurology. They should possess a strong record as a clinician-investigator in the field and should have a passionate commitment to patient care, teaching, and collegiality.
