Job Details

Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute (MHNI) in Ann Arbor, MI, founded by Dr. Joel Saper, is looking to recruit a headache specialist. The desired candidate for MHNI will have experience/fellowship training or an extreme desire to learn and focus your practice in head pain. You must be engaging, have a patient-oriented personality and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. Neurology residents will be considered as long as you are passionate about specializing in head pain. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and PM&R physicians will also be considered on a case by case basis if board certified in Headache.

Patients come from around the world to seek pain relief from this institute, which has a national reputation for helping individuals who suffer from head pain, face and neck pain and related disorders. Through a multidisciplinary team of specially trained physicians, PAs, PhD. psychologists, PTs, RNs, techs and admin staff this comprehensive treatment and research center is the only center of its kind to earn national accreditation.

Your practice will be primarily OUTPATIENT with 1:3 weekend call responsibilities. Weekend call is once a month which allows for a great work/life balance. Rounding at one hospital only (10-bed headache unit) further enhances this tremendous opportunity. Competitive and comprehensive compensation package including salary, incentive and full benefits. Track to shareholder status available to those interested.

The presence of a major state university helps explain Ann Arbor's many fine restaurants and varied cuisines. It is THE quintessential university town. Abundant cultural and recreational amenities and diverse shopping are enjoyed by residents. One of Money Magazine's Top 10 places to live. This community is located on the Huron River less than an hour west of Detroit in the heart of Southeastern Michigan. Surrounded by rivers, lakes, forests and farmland, the continental climate is characterized by four distinct seasons.

Having gained prominence as a center for high-technology research and development firms, this community consistently ranks high on lists of America's best places to live. Frequently noted are its thriving economy, excellent air and water quality and cultural attractions befitting a much larger city. This city combines big-city amenities with a small-town atmosphere to produce a desirable quality of life. Multi-cultural influences can be seen in the city's shops, restaurants and arts offerings. The arts are a flourishing and integral part of the community, in part fueled by the university.

The Main Street area, consisting of several blocks of specialty shops, brew pubs, nightspots and restaurants, forms the central commercial district. State Street, the university's major business district, consists of a cluster of retail stores, restaurants, coffee shops and several record and book shops.

Among the popular participatory sports that can be enjoyed by residents, cycling, running, ice skating, racquetball, paddleball, handball, roller skating, downhill and cross-country skiing, swimming and tennis are just some of the activities to enjoy. Cycling lanes exist on many of the main streets-paved paths for walking, running, cycling or skating run along the Huron River.

A leisurely drive along a winding two-lane country road in any direction can lead to old barns, horse ranches, antique shops, cider mills, u-pick farms and other joys of country living-all within 30 minutes.
