We are seeking a full time Neurohospitalist to join our established team to practice in the acute-care setting providing exceptional in-patient care.  Our Neurology team is comprised of 1 full time Neurohospitalist & Stroke Medical Director, 2 outpatient Neurologists, 2 outpatient Advanced Practice providers.

Position Highlights:

  • 24-hour coverage 7 on / 7 off
  • Call only during on week, taken almost exclusively from home 
  • Purely consultative; hospitalists admit patients

Salem Hospital, a community-based not-for-profit facility, is one of Oregon's largest acute-care hospitals, and is currently licensed for 494 acute-care beds.  With one of the busiest hospitals on the west coast, a steady increase in population, and the number of 60- to 80-year-olds, seniors, and people with complex health needs is expected to grow by more than 50%, we are building now, to prepare for the future!  Our expanded critical care tower will add 150 beds to our campus in July 2022.

Qualifications:

  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Neurology.
  • Board Certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry. Applicants who are not Board Certified must be eligible, actively participating in the Board Certification process, and achieve Board Certification within 5 years of initial appointment to the Medical Staff.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.
  • Current DEA certification.
  • New graduates welcome, vascular neurology fellowship training preferred.
