Neurohospitalist - Vanderbilt University
The Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) invites applications for a faculty position as a neurohospitalist in the Division of Inpatient General Neurology. The division has 3 full-effort members and 17 part-effort members staffing the inpatient, consult, and emergency neurology services at the adult hospital. Candidates must be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and those most interested in full-effort hospital neurology are encouraged to apply. A blending of hospital with general neurology or subspecialty practice is also possible and participation in our teleneurology service is encouraged.
The VUMC adult hospital is a large academic medical center, has 1,019 beds, and is the principal teaching facility for the School of Medicine at Vanderbilt University. VUMC is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 1 Trauma Center, Burn Center, and has busy services in advanced cardiac care, heart and other transplants, and oncologic care including stem cell transplant. The inpatient general neurology service works closely with our neurosurgical colleagues who have brisk practices in vascular, tumor, and functional neurosurgery, among others. Neurology and Neurosurgery share a 24 bed Neuro ICU and 12 bed Neuro-stepdown unit. We serve a large area with 3 helipads, 9 helicopters, and a fixed wing medical transport.
The successful candidate will be joining the adult neurology department and must have a longstanding commitment to the care of people with neurologic disorders and educating the next generation of neurologists. Interested candidates should submit a C.V. and a brief statement of interest to:
