Top 50 Neuroscience Center seeks Advanced Practice Providers for Neurology program

Ochsner Health is currently seeking Advanced Practice Providers for our Neurology program. We have opportunities in Baton Rouge.

We are seeking to hire Advanced Practice Providers – NPs or PAs, with Neurology experience to add to our team.

Our advanced practice model:

• As vital members of the team, the APP will work with the physician, fellows, residents, and existing APPs as an integral part of the care team.
• This APP will work primarily in the clinic setting, seeing a variety of Neurology specialty patients. There will be direct oversight and training with attending physicians.

Key duties will include

• Physical assessment
• Development and implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic plans,
• Interpretation of physical exam laboratory, imaging, and physiologic data
• Clinical documentation.
• Procedures (central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, and airway management etc.) will also be performed by the APP.

We are currently hiring with the goal of adding APPs in our Neurology clinics with the ability to triage new patients into our Neurology specialty and accompanying subspecialties, as well as seeing follow-up patients in conjunction with supervising physicians. This role would follow a Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm schedule.   

The Department of Neurology has a complement of over 40 Neurologists and 25 Advanced Practice Providers system-wide with subspecialty representation in stroke, neurocritical care, interventional neurology, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, epilepsy, MS, headache, cognitive disorders, sleep, traumatic brain injury and sports medicine.
