A well-established academic program is seeking Pediatric, Neurocritical Care, Stroke, Cognitive, Multiple Sclerosis, Headache, Movement Disorders, Neuro-oncology, and neurohospitalist sub-specialists to join its collegial team. This is the only academic medical center in Central New York, an area encompassing a population of 2 million people. New faculty members are offered the opportunity to build a clinical practice, engage in collaborative research, and provide instruction to neurology residents.  The institution has selected Neuroscience in its most recent revised strategic plan.  

The program is also seeking qualified applicants at the Assistant/Associate Professor level for the Medical Director position of its Comprehensive Stroke Center. 

Pediatric Neurology Practice Highlights:

  • Collaborate with the departments of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics
  • Interests in general pediatric neurology, developmental neurology, and pediatric headache neurology especially welcome
  • Provide instruction to medical students as well as Neurology residents and fellows
  • Engage in clinical or bench research
  • Join a growing pediatric neurology team supported by APPs, dedicated nurses and support staff
  • On-site Children’s Hospital featuring an EMU suite and support services for families

Neurocritical Care and Stroke Practice Highlights:

  • Neurocritical Care Inpatient service 24-26 weeks per year
  • Stroke Inpatient service 12-14 weeks per year
  • First Level 1 Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region
  • Only Level 1 Trauma Center in the region
  • Only Level IV Epilepsy Center
  • UNCS and CAST Certified Neurocritical Care fellowship program
  • State of the art 14 bed dedicated Neuro ICU with 13 bed Stepdown unit
  • Full multimodality neuromonitoring capability
  • Provide instruction to Neurology and Neurosurgery residents and Neurology, ICU and Stroke fellows
  • Work with Advanced Practice Providers, residents, fellows, and Neuroscience-certified nurses

Multiple Sclerosis Practice Highlights:

  • A multi-disciplinary approach to treatment
  • On-site Infusion Center
  • Dedicated Nursing Support
  • Strong Basic and Translation research team
  • Clinical Trial participation

Headache Practice Highlights:

  • Long-standing headache practice with the highest regional presence
  • Dedicated nursing triage assistants
  • Infusion suite located at the office site
  • Access to procedures and multi-disciplinary consultants

Neurohospitalist Practice Highlights:

  • Join current neurohospitalist in 7on/7off rotation
  • 17 weeks of inpatient service
  • Subspecialized clinic on non-service weeks
  • Protected vacation and administrative time

Additional Practice Highlights:

  • Collaborate with other departments such as physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, radiology, and others to offer comprehensive care for patients
  • Infusion suite located at clinical office sites
  • Leadership opportunities available

Medical Directorship Opportunity Highlights:

  • Only Level I Trauma Center in the region
  • Participation in telestroke with 11 hospitals
  • 14-bed dedicated neuro-ICU
  • 900 stroke patients/year
  • Nightly census of 15 stroke patients
  • Provide instruction to Neurology and Neurosurgery residents and Neurology, ICU and Stroke fellows
  • Join the largest neurology group in the area with over 20 faculty in multiple specialties.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated stroke team of Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Cardiologists,  Rehabilitation Therapists, Stroke Certified Registered Nurses, Neuroscience Certified Registered Nurses, Neurovascular Registered Nurses - Board Certified
  • Dedicated and department managed Clinical Research Section
