The Department of Neurology at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is recruiting a full-time neuromuscular specialist, at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level, for its Neuromuscular Division. The VABHS Neuromuscular Center has one of the largest neuromuscular/EMG training programs in the country with over 30 residents and fellows annually, including neurology residents from Boston Medical Center and Mass General Brigham, as well as PM&R residents from Spaulding Rehabilitation Center and Tufts Medical Center, Programs. This highly active center is staffed by three full-time and two part-time neuromuscular specialists and serves Veterans in the Boston area and throughout New England.  In addition to a busy neuromuscular clinic and EMG laboratory, with two full-time EMG technicians, the center offers a multi-disciplinary ALS Clinic with a full-time ALS patient coordinator as well as neuromuscular ultrasound. VABHS is the major tertiary referral center for Veterans throughout New England and has strong academic affiliations with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).

The essential duties of this position include: (1) the care of adult patients with neuromuscular disorders, (2) performance and supervision of EMGs, (3) teaching residents, fellows, and medical students (4) contributing to the neurology service as an attending in general neurology clinics and inpatient service. Successful candidates should have a strong commitment to outstanding clinical patient care and clinical education. Interests in clinical research are encouraged and supported.

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen, have an MD or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in both Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine and be licensed in MA or another state.
